I've had 288's on there before. They came with 288B's, and I've tried the 288-16G's too. At least in the last iteration, the 902's were a better match in SPL's. Of course, now is the time to cycle them through again. I've never tried the 299's on there yet, but maybe this go round.....

11x louder, if I did the math right. 299-288= ... ;-)
So, I perhaps missed any mention of XO.
Is this all active, or are you parasiting off the the 902 XO for those extra HF units?
That'd be the initial 'concern', some HF with the 19 psuedo(?) CD eq., some without. 'if it sounds good... ' trumps it of course.
*perhaps symbiotik-ing is the better choice of words. ;-)
** What are the blue MR's, and why aren't they the main MF units? Narrow dispersion units?

I must be missing something here. I read the spec sheet of the 299 as 110db/w/m, while the 288-16G looks like 109db/w/4 ft. The 902's, which are actually 8B's, are 104db/w/4 ft. Right now, the crossover is the OEM Simplex XL which is a sealed in tar set up. I do have a 2 way active crossover I will eventually set up for tinkering. The Frazier array is just tapped off the amp output with a simple 2.0uF cap to crossover at 10K.
The blue rays are MR94B's and currently they are a separate set up with the 902s now on board with 515-16GHPs underneath run through a set of 816VI's. Are you suggesting I use the MRs as a mid freq horn?
I have put the 288-16G's back up on the 1005Bs and tipped the horns forward so they are now pointing directly at the listening position. I'm going to watch a movie tonight with more or less everything going. This means I'll have the Altec stacks in the corners, a set of infinity Kappa 9's run by a restored Haffler DH 500 bracketing the TV, and the same preamp running everything along with a subwoofer (JBL4608 with a couple of locally made 15" drivers and a 150W DBX subwoofer amp)
Panomaniac stopped by one night and measured the Simplex/Frazier set up and was surprised at how well it measured. I need to get him to post the graphs for posterity's sake...
Kung Fu Panda won't sound any better in the local theater....:Thumbs up:

Yeah, as I mentioned in my previous post, I think those horns were probably too high up unless you tilt them/point them down towards your listening position. I think you'll hear a substantial improvement because now the "sweet spot" for those horns will be where you're seated--not above your head...."

Sorry, it was mediocre joke. 299-288=11. :-)

..just wondering what your preference is or has become, between all the components, and thinking out loud. I like the way the big CD's sound.
I'd think 288 (if the right bolt pattern) on the MR's on top of the simplexes as a 2-way, would be a good start to better coherence (if it is of concern).
The tweeter array could possibly nestle within it, semi-coaxially.
Which then may or may not work depending on where they XO into a 3 way.
Or, 299 on the MR, and the 900 series on the multicells for HF.
However - I was thinking of it solely as stereo for audio, now from the last post it's clear that it's doing duty as HT.

It's definitely getting multipurpose use. I watched Tron Legacy with the kids this afternoon. While basking in the sound, I couldn't help but think how it might all sound with some rears. It's not like I don't have enough stuff. Been absently toying with the idea of seeing if I have enough.clearance to fly the 816VI. Then there's the problem of what to do for the HF......
Oh and I'll also use it for XboX sound if I already have it up and running...

Hello. I bought speakers a long time ago and now I finally decided to buy a large plasma TV.
After reading your conversation, I realized that you have some experience in installing a TV on the wall. Tell me where to start the installation and how to properly and securely install the bracket?
Re: Is there a problem with this?
Well, if you are thinking about installing a TV, there are some points that you should be aware of initially. First, how big is your TV?Before purchasing a seat for your TV, you need to know the size of your TV. This is the standard distance between the two holes on the back of the TV and also determines the size of the bracket you need.It is important to determine the correct location for your TV before you place it. Where you install your TV can affect the quality of your photo. The best place to place the TV is where it will be level and next to the wall studs. And when it comes to installation, it is recommended to install close to the wall, this is the most reliable type of installation, the guys from Boston tv mounting installed it this way. This type of installation is also known as silent installations.
